BARRY Communities First in partnership with Absolute Rail is searching for jobseekers aged 18 and over to take part in a free 10 day Personal Track Safety Course in the New Year.

During the course participants will take part in a number of classroom assessments and practical sessions that include how to work safely and how to do basic repairs on railway tracks.

When completed participants will be awarded with a Blue Rail Card which will allow them to work in the rail industry as general rail track operators.

To be eligible you must live in a Barry Communities First area which includes parts of Buttrills, Cadoc, Castleland, Court and Gibbonsdown.

Applicants must attend a one day information session on Monday, January 12, at the People Business Wales Centre, Holton Road, Barry from 10am until 1pm which will provide further information and enable candidates to make a decision on whether to participate.

Due to strict guidelines candidates will need to pass a drugs screening and E-Learning Test and also bring photographic ID (passport or driving licence).
