DURING the half term holiday children enjoyed a free three day camp for children ran by the Vale council led Barry Communities First in partnership with Gibbonsdon Children Centre.

This camp was organised by Communities First volunteers who had been awarded funding by the Vale Volunteer Bureau's Dish Out Dosh young person's project. The project aims to help young people in the Vale of Glamorgan to set up youth based projects that have a community benefit.

A total of 33 children took part in a range of cultural activities including arts and crafts, music workshops laid on by Raw Rock Academy and a trip to the Millennium Centre to watch a show and have a tour.

One parent said “The children really enjoyed themselves and had a lovely day out at the Bay. The staff were fab and it was nice for the children to have something to do during the holidays whilst I was working”.

Holly Morgan Communities First Transition Officer said "It was great to see so many children getting involved in this project, I would like to give a special thanks to Dish Out Dosh and the hard working volunteers for their commitment and dedication, without them this wouldn't have been possible"
