A SERVICE dedicated to Barry community members who have died will take place at Crossways Methodist church at 3pm on Saturday, November 29.

Vale Funeral Service directors, Lyndsay Ellis and his wife Nicki are inviting all to join them for a Christmas Memorial Service.

Court Road-based Lyndsay and Nicki said the service was their way of giving something back to the community.

Lyndsay said: “This service is a personal gesture from us to all those who have lost loved ones recently or in the past that our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. This is a community event and whether you have been looked after by ourselves or any other funeral home, all are welcome.

“This service is an emotional and uplifting and I hope from past years brings comfort to those who have lost a loved one. We invite everyone interested in attending to contact us so that loved ones names can be read out in our role of honour.”

Services in previous years have attracted more than 250 people.

Lyndsay said: “The feedback was so positive and this is another reason why I am continuing the service for many years to come.

“The service will be officiated by Rev Pete Taylor assisted by the kind help of his church family. We will sing some carols, words of comfort, and some pieces of music as we take time to reflect.

"It will last approximately half an hour and after the service all are welcome for tea and coffee at the church community hall.”

Families can complete memorial tags for the Memorial Christmas tree with messages for loved ones.

The memorial tree will remain at Crossways Church for the duration of Christmas.

Lyndsay added: “I wish to thank all at the church for their assistance and making this service possible.”
