A TASTE of an ambitious storybook project to enthuse pre-school children about healthy living and environmental issues has been launched on YouTube, by its creators.

Barry granddad Mark Dickenson and daughter Hannah Fitt have posted a video of one of their Jumumbly characters - Arnold Pant who is an elephant and panda cross – for would-be book publishing funders to get an insight into what their money could help achieve.

The family has begun a Kickstarter fundraising campaign and those who pledge to name a Jumumbly and/or suggests a story theme will get a book credit.

Funders can also suggest themes for future books which will see proceeds go to The Safe Foundation charity which was established by Mark’s daughter Lucy, Hannah’s twin sister, and run by Lucy until she died in an accident in Zambia in August 2012.

Topics featured in books include recycling, deforestation, energy conservation, water conservation, foraging, wind power, food waste and over-eating, exercise.

£4500 is needed to print the first run of Arnold Pant, finish the second book and get the whole project rolling.
