THE Barry Town United Development Centre starts again this September for children aged 13 and under.

The idea of the Development Centre, delivered in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council, is to focus on technical development without being overly physically exhausting.

A club spokesman said: "We would like to remind all clubs that the centre is not a recruiting tool for Barry Town United, but a centre to assist players in developing their potential.

"We hope this will then enhance the standard of football displayed on a Saturday morning for the boys’ parent clubs."

Age levels at the centre will be Under 8 (Year 3), Under 9 (Year 4), Under 10 (Year 5), Under 11 (Year 6), Under 12 (Year 7) and Under 13 (Year 8).

Sessions will take place on Friday evenings at the Colcot Sports Centre with Year 3 and 4 from 5 to 6pm, Years 5 and 6 from 6 to 7pm and Years 7 and 8 from 7 to 8pm.

The sessions will again be delivered by UEFA A and B Licence coaches, all of whom have a high level of experience within amateur, semi and professional football.

The training schedule contains 28 sessions and will cost £100, including the cost of training kit. If a player already has the centre’s training kit, the cost will be £75.

Payment can be made in two instalments, if preferred.
