A BARRY bank has boosted a children’s charity fund thanks to residents expressing interest in a recent raffle.
Santander, on Holton Road, has raised £190.73 for the NSPCC thanks to customers supporting its event at the branch on Friday. (April 11)
Staff - including manager Heidi Smith, Kimberley Prosser, Michelle Hopkins and Janeane (CORR) Watts - were supported in their aim to raise money for the bank’s chosen charity by businesses contributing raffle prizes.
Card Factory, Coconuts, Downtown American Diner, Jungle Jacks, Iceland, Little Divas, Morrisons, Sainsbury, Tesco, Waitrose, and Wheeliesmart all contributed to the cause.
Staff also paid not to wear uniform.
Event organiser and customer service advisor, Michelle Hopkins said: “We were surprised at how generous people have been and we’d like to thank the customers for their donations.”
Manager Heidi Smith added: “It’s nice for customers to see us doing something different.”
