VOLUNTEER crew with the RNLI Barry Dock lifeboat made it second time lucky when they embarked o n a re-scheduled training exercise on Tuesday. (January 28)
Bad weather conditions had forced them to reschedule from Friday.
RNLI Barry Dock lifeboat spokeswoman, Abi Phillips said: “The RNLI lifeboat crew regularly work with the helicopter crew to make sure that they know exactly what to do if a casualty needs to be airlifted from the lifeboat, or they need to work together to carry out a search and rescue operation. Volunteer lifeboat crew train all the year round to prepare to respond to emergencies of all types and in all weathers and are on call 24/7.”
