BARRY boxers Lee and Andrew Selby were among the many enabling hostel residents to experience a knockout Christmas.

Children, staff and guests met Father Christmas at the Ty Iolo Christmas party on December 20.

Celebrations included a Christmas grotto, Father Christmas from Barry Round Table giving out selection boxes, Andy Griffiths from the Vale Library telling Christmas stories and bingo in the evening courtesy of Brecon Court.

Becky Lynn, hostel worker from Vale Council Housing Services, said: “All the children really enjoyed the party which was only possible due to the kindness of our supporters. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped make this such a wonderful event.”

The party was supported by many local organisations and businesses who donated the following:

Lee and Andrew Selby donated signed boxing gloves and photos, Holly Bennett of Blush Beauty Boutique, Park Crescent, donated a voucher and Jaykay images, of Barry, a free photo studio session and free print.

The hostel staff also thanked all staff at The Alps, Wenvoe, for their donations.
