A BARRY man has celebrated 70 years of wedded bliss to a sweetheart he met on a train.
Kenneth Clark, son of Percy and Lucy Clark, married Hilda Stokes, who worked at the War Office in London, in Portsmouth on December 11, 1943.
Ken and Hilda’s daughter, Christine Lindsey, said: “My grandfather was the caretaker at the Sanatorium on the Colcot Road. In later years they lived at Somerset Road East. He had one sister, Margaret, who married John Laity.
“The couple live in Fareham, Hampshire and have three children, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Christine added: “The family came in from the USA and across the UK to celebrate with a party.”
