BARRY'S All Saints' Church was the venue for the annual carol concert of Bryn Hafren Comprehensive, writes pupil Camille Danielsen of form 9SP.
As usual, the church was packed, and the audience was eager to hear the school orchestra, choir, teachers' choir, woodwind ensemble, soloists and readings. Traditional and more modern Christmas carols were sung, with the orchestra playing a more upbeat selection.
Claudia Perry said: " I really enjoyed the carol concert. I played in the orchestra, accompanied the woodwind ensemble and played the theme from 'Downton Abbey' as a piano solo. It was a great evening."
Pupils and teachers, including head of English Miss Banks and headteacher Mr Whitcombe, contributed readings.
The organisers of the event, Mr Morris and Mr Greene, said: "We are very proud of the pupils who took part in the really wonderful evening. I hope we can have an equally nice night next year."
