A BARRY primary school has been hit by its fourth vandal attack in two weeks.

On Tuesday, at approximately 8.30pm three teenagers were spotted throwing rocks from Victoria Park opposite. In total they managed to smash six windows.

Headteacher Chris Myers said: "We are disappointed that the school has been targeted in this way. We have never had this level of vandalism before in my 17 years as headteacher.

"The most frustrating thing is the problems they cause from a health and safety view. We've got glass in classrooms, embedded in the carpet.

"It's quite an operation for the cleaners, the caretaker and teachers to make the rooms safe again for learning. We would like to appeal to local residents to support the school and the community by calling the police if they see any vandals destroying school property."

Parent Francis Roche, who has a four-year-old at the school, said: "I think it's disgusting - absolutely horrendous. How can they do that to children's environment?

"I don't know what the next step could be to stop this."

A police spokesman said: "Police are appealing to the public to come forward with any information and to contact Sgt Addis on 01656 655 555 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
