STAFF at a local optician's store raised nearly £200 for charity by growing moustaches for 'Movember'!
Specsavers Barry director Jamie Pullen and optical assistant Leigh Whitfield competed to grow the better mo', with the aim of helping raise awareness and funds for men's cancer charities Prostate Cancer UK, The Institute of Cancer Research and The Movember Foundation.
Jamie said: "Leigh and I had a lot of fun competing to sport the better facial hair, but the important thing is that collectively we were able to do our bit for a great cause."
Their efforts have helped boost a group-wide fundraising total for Specsavers, which has seen its employees across the UK raise £25,000 as part of its "Should have gone to Spec-shavers' campaign".
That total has been boosted to £100,000 by Llanelli-born Specsavers co-founder, Doug Perkins, himself a former prostate cancer sufferer.
