‘EVERY Little Helps' when it comes to raising money for Ty Hafan – and staff at Barry’s new Tesco Express store stayed true to their company slogan, by donating £500 to the charity.
The supermarket giant donated the money when it opened its new Tesco Express store in the former Royal Hotel, on Main Street/Barry Road in Cadoxton, on Monday (November 19).
Guests of honour - Ty Hafan business and community co-ordinator Diane Stringer, and Barry town mayor Cllr Les Sword - helped staff and customers officially declare the store open for business.
Ms Stringer said: "I would like to thank Tesco for this generous donation. "The money will help Ty Hafan continue to work with families and care professionals to provide quality support and end of life care tailored to every individual’s needs.”
Store manager Carl Davies said: "We are delighted to be able to support Ty Hafan as they do such wonderful work within the local community.
"My team and I are looking forward to welcoming our customers into the new store, and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community."
