THE Memo Arts Centre, Barry, will screen the latest episode to the Star Wars saga and will have a live broadcast from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

From Friday, January 15 to Friday, January 22, see the latest episode of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (12A).

Thirty years after defeating the Galactic Empire, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and his allies face a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and his army of Stormtroopers.

A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas and set 30 years after Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983).

There are various screenings throughout the week.

Tickets to see the film cost £6.50 or £4.50 for concessions.

Then on Tuesday, January 26, there will be the live broadcast of the Royal Ballet Live: Rhapsody/The Two Pigeons.

This delightful Frederick Ashton double bill opens with his setting of Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, using the music’s dark turbulence and brilliance to inspire some of his most thrilling choreography. Witty, impassioned and sublime this ballet was the pinnacle of Ashton’s romantic style.

The second half of the programme features Ashton’s delicate, deceptively comic The Two Pigeons - a work rarely performed and a real treat for ballet fans everywhere.

Tickets to the screening cost £15 or £12.50 for concessions.
