RESIDENTS at a Barry care home will be treated to a feast of musical talent on Thursday, April 10.

Musicians from the charity Live Music Now (LMN) will delight all at the Cartref Porthceri Care Home.

The charity helps to develop and encourage young professional musicians and is committed to ensuring that music of the highest quality is available to those who are rarely given the opportunity to experience it.

Cartref Porthceri residents will experience one of more than 250 performances given in Wales annually by musicians who have come through a rigorous audition process to be accepted by the organisation.

Director of LMN Wales, Gillian Green said: “We are delighted to be sending musicians. It is always wonderful to watch audiences respond to our skilled musicians who are keen to entertain older people with music which means so much to them.”

Joy Cornock and Bethan Semmens, soprano and harp, will perform a range of music which will be chosen specifically for the residents of Cartref Porthceri.

Many musicians from Live Music Now have gone on to become internationally known performers including the pianist Llyr Williams and the conductor of Only Men Aloud Tim Rhys Evans.

LMN, which celebrates 37 years since its foundation by the famous violinist Yehudi Menhuin has been performing in care homes throughout Wales since 1990.
