A MAN who lived on King Street in Penarth in the 1930s has caught up with some other former residents of the street - who now live on the other side of the world!

81-year-old Trevor Joyce, who now lives in Llanrumney in Cardiff, said: "Audrey and Nancy Schultz lived across the road from us at 19 King Street.

"I am very pleased that I am now back in touch with them by letter and phone after more than 60 years.

"Nancy now lives in a place called Craigsville, West Virginia and Audrey lives on New Zealand's North Island.

"I often look back and think of the people who I knew in that street like Mrs Jones, Mrs Bird, Mrs Ward, Mr Whitson an Mr and Mrs Meade of the Golden Lion.

"What memories I have - memories that no-one can take away from me. "Times were hard," added Mr Joyce.

"But the best part of my life was spent in that town. Penarth was my town and will always be in my heart."
