MORE than £1,000 in fines has been handed out to Barry’s speeding drivers in the past week.
Here we take a look at those who have been fined for speeding from or in the Barry and district area.
Ian Patrick Watkins, 50, of Rhoose Road, Rhoose, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 22.
He was caught doing 46mph on the A48 at Brocastle, where the limit is 40mph, on September 11. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Marcus Monaghan, 41, of Talybont Close, St Athan, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 15.
He was caught doing 40mph on Boverton Road, where the limit is 30mph, on August 26. He was fined £126 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Gareth Stephen Northcott, 38 of Dobbins Road, Barry, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 23.
He was caught doing 38mph on Skomer Road on August 29. The speed limit on the road is 30mph. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Rhiannon Mair Stanley, 40, of Winston Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 16.
She was caught doing 25mph on Butrills Road outside Sant Curig Primary School, where a 20mph limit is in place, on July 8. She was fined £100 and given three points on her licence. She also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £105 costs.
Robert Williams, 46, of Dovey Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on March 21.
He was caught doing 35mph on the A470 Llyswen, Powys - where the limit is 30mph - on September 9. He was fined £145 and given three points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Damian Stanford Robinson, 36, of Tordoff Way, Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 22.
He was caught doing 43mph on North Road, where the limit is 30mph, on September 7. He was fined £215 and given four points on his licence. He also has to pay a £34 surcharge and 90 costs.
