SEVEN people from the Vale have been convicted of speeding offences in the past two weeks.

The offences occurred either in Barry or Penarth or by people from Barry or Penarth and surrounding areas.

Michael Szalkowski, 43, of Barry Road, Barry, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on Monday, November 8, where he pleaded guilty to speeding.

This related to an offence on Thursday, May 27, on the B4342 at New Quay, where he was caught doing 35mph in a 30mph zone.

He was fined £66 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge.

Ceri Louise Lambeth, 44, of Greenwood Street, Barry, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on Wednesday, October 27, where she was found guilty of speeding.

This related to an offence on Wednesday, May 5, on the A40 near Nantyci Showground in Carmarthen where she was caught doing 73mph in a 60mph zone.

She was fined £100 and given three points on her licence. She was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Floricec Radcanu, 36, of Holton Road, Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 2, where he was found guilty of speeding.

It related to an offence on Thursday, April 29, on the M4 at Port Talbot where he was caught doing 62mph in a 50mph zone.

He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence.

Irini Xarlampakis, 36 of Plantagenet Street, Cardiff, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Friday, October 29, where she was found guilty of speeding.

It related to an offence on Friday, April 23, outside Sant Curig Primary School, Barry, where she was caught doing 24mph in a 20mph zone.

She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Leanne Carys Coundley, 35 of Livingstone Way, St Athan, Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Thursday, October 28, where she pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on Friday, April 9, on Cowbridge Road where she was caught doing 38mph in a 30mph zone.

She was fined £130 and given three points on her licence. She was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Andrew John Harper, 38 of Canon Street, Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 3, where he pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on Monday, February 22, on Newport Road, Cardiff where he was caught doing 38mph in a 30mph zone.

He was fined £150 and given three points on his licence.

Ndidi Gabrielle Spencer, 45, of Clevedon Avenue, Sully, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Monday, November 1, where she pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on Thursday, May 6, at Westbourne Road, Penarth, where she was caught doing 35mph in a 30mph zone.

She was fined £112 and given three points on her licence. She was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
