A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.
MICHAEL ASHLEY STEPHEN SPARKS, 18, of Hywel Crescent, Barry, was sent to a young offender institution for six months, suspended for 12 months, after he admitted having an offensive weapon – a knuckleduster – in public.
He was ordered to pay £213 in a surcharge and costs.

BRADY THOMAS, 22, of Islwyn Way, Barry, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug-driving with delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, a breakdown product of cannabis, in his blood.
He was also ordered to pay £440 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
WAYNE GINO BURNELL, 36, of Vere Street, Barry, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug-driving with delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, a breakdown product of cannabis, in his blood.
He was also ordered to pay £154 in a fine and a surcharge.
BENJAMIN THOMAS, 40, of Fonmon Park Road, Fontygary, Rhoose, was ordered to pay £1,026 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he was found guilty of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver.
His driving record endorsed with six points.
CHRISTOPHER PATRICK JONES, 60, of Castleland Street, Barry, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he failed to give information relating to the identification of a driver.
His driving record endorsed with six points.
DANIEL THOMAS BRADBURY SAMMONS, 42, of Atlantic Place, Barry, was ordered to pay £344 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 36mph in a 30mph zone.
His driving record endorsed with three points.
KRISTIAN MAGRIN, 32, of Rhoose Way, Rhoose, was ordered to pay £344 in fines, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
His driving record endorsed with six points.
RICHARD DAVID THOMAS, 29, of Holton Road, Barry, was ordered to pay £162 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 37mph in a 30mph zone.
His driving record endorsed with three points.
