A BULLY who repeatedly stamped on his girlfriend less than a month after she gave birth to their daughter has been jailed.

Anthony Richardson, 32, of no fixed abode, Barry, attacked his then partner in a sickening assault, Cardiff Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Thomas Stanway said the offence also included the defendant slapping her and leaving her with a bloodshot eye.

Richardson pleaded guilty to controlling or coercive behaviour.

The offence took place between October 1, 2019 and November 15, 2019.

Rhodri Chudleigh, representing Richardson, asked the court to take into account the defendant’s guilty plea.

The defendant was jailed for 12 months by Recorder Simon Mills.

He was also made the subject of an indefinite restraining order stopping him from contacting his victim.
