CADOXTON BARRY FC 2 CASCADE FC 2

CADOXTON Barry FC, after three matches, under the stewardship of Manager Haydn Stait, remain top of the South Wales Division 2 league but only on goal difference after drawing their game 2-2 against Cascade at Jenner Park on Friday night.

Goal scorers for the home side were Jermaine Martyn and Karl Steel.

The first game at Jenner Park was not a very good one. Both sides could have won, but it was Cascade who took the lead through a penalty. CadBarry picked their game up and equalised just before half time.

Both teams came out for the second half pushing hard. Cascade then took the lead, but CadBarry levelled 15 minutes from time after Cascade were reduced to 10 men, losing their goalkeeper. A 2-2 draw was a fair result.

Goal scorers in CadBarry's 7-3 win over Tongwynlais last week were Jermaine Martin 4, Ashley Govier 2 (1 penalty) and Karl Steele.

The Cadoxton Barry FC 'B' team, under Manager Richard Rogers, played Glenbrook at Bryn-y-don on Saturday beating them 3-6 in their first game of the season.

Manager Dave Eveleigh’s Cadoxton Barry FC 'A' side were not so lucky, going down 2-1 in their first match to old rivals Master Mariner.

The Linnets Lotto was not won and now stands at £700. The next draw is on Monday, September 7, at the Castle Hotel.
