The U16s at FC Barry and Wenvoe had a positive final season of junior football.

In an exceptional campaign, the team set out on a high note with a dramatic 2-1 win over champions Dinas Powys Ravens, which shaped the rest of their season.

They secured victory in 16 out of 18 total games, demonstrating their potential as they prepare to transition to youth football.

The title race climaxed in a nail-biter against Dinas Powys Ravens in the penultimate match.

However, it was the Ravens who emerged as the league's champions.

A defining feature of FC Barry’s season was their strong defence led by players including Logan Gunter, Ellis Dennison, Fletcher Richardson, Isaac Thomas, Tom Provis, Riley Williams and goalkeeper, Josh Llewelyn.

The team conceded only 16 goals, much credit to their solid defence.

Team captain, Morgan Price, was instrumental in maintaining team morale, guiding the players to perform their absolute best.

Midfielders Scott Jones, Maks Kaminski, Jake Card and Zac Edwards, along with wingers Harvey Bryant, Llywelyn Evans, and Frazer Harding, demonstrated noteworthy skills.

Their offensive force, led by goal scorers Liam Mallam, Ethan Lewis and McKenzie Fox, played a significant role in the team success, contributing key goals throughout the season.

A pat on the back is deserved for manager, Dave Lewis, whose 11 years of unwavering dedication steered FC Barry through thick and thin.

The efforts by coaches Liam Jones (fitness), Paul Lewis and Lee Card (technical) were invaluable in shaping the team's success.

Off the field, junior secretary Jules Evans and treasurer Allan Price played crucial roles in keeping the club’s wheels turning smoothly.

The club would also like to express gratitude to their sponsors – Channel Electrical, LT Scaffolding Services & Valco scaffolding for their generous support.

With a strong foundation laid, FC Barry and Wenvoe are geared for further growth and success.

Based in Wenvoe, the club is looking to expand its presence from grassroots to senior levels and beyond.

They invite passionate football enthusiasts to join their journey of continued advancement.
