Barry Town United are at home to Penybont on Good Friday, kicking off at 12:30.

With four games left of the season, Barry are in a comfortable ninth position in the twelve team Cymru Premier league, six points away from seventh spot and a European play-off place, but eight points ahead of the relegation zone.

When the two sides met in the return match in Bridgend at the start of February, the points were shared in a 2-2 draw after Barry twice took the lead, but found themselves pegged back.

Barry haven’t lost a match since then – but they also haven’t won one either!

In fact, the last five matches have seen Barry set a new first team record of five consecutive drawn matches, and the last four of them have been 1-1 draws.

Barry had previously drawn four consecutive matches on a number of occasions in the 1970s, including a spell of eight matches in 1979 where they drew 4 games, won one match and then drew a further three.

Jonathan Jones, Steve Jenkins and the team will be hoping for three points to end that run on Friday.

Elsewhere, there has been success throughout the club, with the Development Squad reaching the FAW Youth Cup Final after a semi-final penalty shoot-out against Pontypridd.

Finishing 2-2 in normal time, Harley Tucker pulled off two saves as Barry won 4-2, with Drew Perrett, Callum Huggins, Finn Roberts and Keaton Cooke scoring their spot-kicks.

They play Briton Ferry Llansawel in the final.

Barry Town Women are in contention for the Genero Adran Premier Plate competition, just one point behind The New Saints with three games to play, while the under-19s lead their league table ahead of Cardiff City and Briton Ferry Llansawel.

In Veterans Football, Barry over-40s are top of their division, the over-45s finished second behind Llanelli, and a 9-1 win over Merthyr gave the over-65s the league title on goal difference.
