ON Wednesday evening Penarth Windsor visited Millwood for this week's edition of the Munro Cup.

Rink 2 saw D Lewis, M Williams, A Norris, G Davies off to a steady start and lead 9 shots to 6 after 10 ends.

The visitors clawed their way back to 12 all on the l6th and 4 shots on the last 2 ends saw victory to the away rink 16 shots to12.

On Rink 3 D Bourne, K Thomas, S Sewell and K Davies had a nip and tuck opening 10 ends, edging their opponents 9 shots to 8 but 11 shots on the next 8 ends was enough to ease home 20 shots to 12.

On Rink 4 K Lewys, C Hopkins, D Woodfin and B Crockford trailed 4 shots to nil after 2 ends, but 17 shots collected on 9 of the next ends proved sufficient to see them home 19 shots to 13.

S Hopkins, T Cole, A Williams, H Spencer on Rink 5 did not get going at all and subsided quietly to a 23 shot to 6 defeat.

Overall victory was the visitors' by 64 shots to 57.

On Saturday, Millwood visited the Murch for a league fixture M Lucas, M Gronow and R Browne got off to a slow start but edged into 8 shot to 7 lead after 10 ends.

Eight shots on the next 7 ends edged victory 18 shots to 13.

Rink 3 saw N Tutton, D Woodfin and G Williams took an 8 shot to 2 lead after 5 ends and ran out comfortable winners 33 shots to 7.

On Rink 4, C Hopkins, K Lewys and P Taylor led 7 shots to 3 after 5, 10 shots to 9 at the 10th end, dropped 7 shots on next 6 ends and narrowly lost 19 shots to 17.

The closest game was on Rink 5 where D Bourne, J Cauldwell and K Davies in a real game of nip and tuck with neither side being a shot or two in front held their collective nerve and edged home 12 shots to 11 to seal a good team effort and a win by 80 shots to 50 for Millwood.
