MILLWOOD Bowling Club welcomed Kenfig Hill and Pyle for the last round match of this year’s Carruthers Cup.
Rink 1 saw Nigel Tutton, Dave Woodfin and Gary Williams get off to a slow start and trail 7 shots to 2 after 5 ends.
A good recovery saw the scores level 10 all at 11 ends, and with their tails up they ran away to a comfortable win 24 shots to 14.
Rink 2 saw Gary Smith, Kelvin Lewys and Brian Crockford start slowly and trail 10 shots to 5 after 11 ends.
And they were still behind 13 shots to 7 after 14 a revival of 6 shots gained on the next 3 ends
was not quite enough to stop the visitors winning by one shot on the final end 14 shots to 12 overall.
Clive Hopkins, Mike Gronow and Rob Browne on rink 4 found themselves in a game of nip and tuck from the first delivery, and although they came through 18 shots to 17.
At no time during the game was the result certain thanks to a concentrated effort.
Rink 5 saw Dave Bourne, Steve Sewell and Keith Davies get off to a flyer and they led 7 shots to 1 after 5 ends to keep the pressure on to record an easy win 20 shots to 8 with the home side taking overall victory 74 shots to 52.
