LOOKING to put their UEFA Europa League qualifying woes behind them, Barry Town have been handed their first set of JD Cymru Premier fixtures, yet there remains no news on when supporters can return to the stands of Jenner Park.

After abandoning a season for the first time in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Wales' national league will start afresh this month, with Barry among its twelve competing clubs.

However, with current Welsh Government policy and the FAW’s Return to Play Protocol dictating all games be played behind-closed-doors, Town fans face a frustrating lock-out.

Barry And District News:

Though their visit to the Faroe Islands was a fruitless one Barry are back in action this month

A statement from Jenner Park revealed that all 12 of the Cymru Premier's member clubs had lobbied to delay the restart until their supporters could be welcomed safely.

Yet with the final decision out of their hands, Phase One of the 2020-21 season will kick off on Saturday 12 September, with the hope these restrictions prove a temporary nuisance.

Barry start their fourth consecutive top flight campaign with back-to-back home fixtures, welcoming 13-time champions The New Saints to Jenner Park on the opening afternoon, before hosting Caernarfon Town the following Saturday.

Their first televised game will be against Flint Town United at Cae-y-Castell on Saturday 26 September, with the S4C team on hand for this first league meeting of the sides in 22 years.

After entertaining another promoted outfit in Haverfordwest County, Barry have a packed October in store, with seven league matches scheduled, including a midweek trip to Bala Town and a Saturday showdown with the 2019-20 champions, Connah's Quay Nomads.

A traditional favourite on the football calendar, Boxing Day sees Barry make the short hop to Penybont, while another December derby at Jenner Park is pencilled in three days later.

New Year's Day has a full programme of Cymru Premier matches on tap, with Barry heading west to renew what is a decades-old rivalry with Haverfordwest at the New Bridge Meadow.

The final round of Phase One fixtures sees Barry tackle Cardiff Met in Cyncoed, with Town fans hopeful of securing a Championship Conference spot, either before or on this evening.
