BARRY Rugby Club is coming together to raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre.
With this season's rugby coming to a premature end, each section of the club is going to run, walk or cycle the distance of Route 66.
The historic route winds from Chicago to LA and is 2,448 miles all the way.
There will be a race between the Senior vs Youth vs Junior sections to complete the distance quickest.
As, understandably, most fundraising is going to the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic, the club wants to help Velindre at a time when it may be receiving less donations than usual.
A Barry RFC spokesman said: “Velindre is a brilliant charity close to our hearts as it has helped numerous members of the club and their families in their fights against cancer.
“All of the money raised will be donated to Velindre to raise funds and awareness, as it continues to do an amazing job in unprecedented times.
“Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.”
