BACK-ROWER Taine Basham is available for the Dragons’ Guinness PRO14 clash with Toyota Cheetahs after being released from the Wales squad.
The South African side visit Rodney Parade on Saturday (kick-off 5.15pm) for what will be the hosts’ first home game since January 17.
Uncapped 20-year-old Basham, from Talywain, trained with the national squad ahead of the Six Nations opener against Italy, before being permanently added to Wayne Pivac’s set-up.
Basham had previously been rewarded for a superb start to the season by being called up for the uncapped November fixture against the Barbarians.
He was also released for the Dragons’ trip to Glasgow Warriors last Saturday, coming off the bench on 48 minutes to replace Huw Taylor.
As well as Basham, Wales, whose next Six Nations match is away to England on March 7, have released Cardiff Blues duo Hallam Amos and Seb Davies and Scarlets flanker Aaron Shingler.
