BARRY chalked up their fourth win in Division 1 East Central after they saw off local rivals Dinas Powys 18-13 at home on Saturday.

The victory halted a three-game losing streak and they will look to build on their triumph when they travel to Mountain Ash on Saturday.

In a Christmas message on the club's website, Colin Ham wrote: “As a club we have had a very successful year in the 1st XV being promoted to Division 1 and being able to field a Barrians side and a Youth side, both of which have done exceptionally well to date.

"The M and J section have also had a very successful year, which is so important when one considers that they are the future of the club.

"We are privileged at Barry RFC, to have a tremendous group of people, who in their various ways are the jigsaw pieces that make this club the great one it is. None of the foregoing would have been possible without their involvement.

"To this end, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the coaches, team managers and players of the 1st XV, the Barrians, the Youth and the Minis and Juniors section for the hard work, dedication and commitment they have consistently shown to get the club where it is today.

"Thanks are also due to the faithful band of supporters who turn up week after week in all sorts of winds and weather to cheer the teams on and to Carol and her staff and to the members of the club committee for their hard work and dedication, because without them we would not have a club.

"Finally, I would like to wish and your families, a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year."
