AT a recent Novice Gymnastics Competition, Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg teams were crowned Welsh champions.

On Friday, 6th of December, several teams from the school represented Cardiff and Vale in the Welsh Novice Gymnastic final competition.

They were very successful as four teams won the gold medal to become champions.

The year 7 boys, year 7 girls, the years 8-9 boys and years 8-9 girls teams all won the first prize. What an achievement! Gymnastics must be in the blood of Bro Morgannwg pupils.

The competition, held in Cardiff, was for novice gymnastic teams.

Rhys Beynon, PE teacher and coach of the gymnastics team said: "I’m very proud of this group of young people who have worked extremely hard over recent months.

"The commitment that they have showed towards their sport has been exceptional, and this was evident on the day of the competition.

"These pupils have grasped the opportunity offered to them, have practiced every morning with the team, and have therefore been rewarded with the Welsh champions title. I’m so proud!’

The school have experienced success at the competition in the past, which goes to show the array of talents at the school, and their clear talent in gymnastics! Llongyfarchiadau i chi gyd!
