ON 6th September the lady golfers of Brynhill braved the most horrendous weather to play in the Funny Hats at Home competition.

The ladies turned out with some weird and wonderful hats.

With the wind howling and the rain trying its best to destroy a fun golf day the ladies were not deterred.

Jo the ladies Captain led from the front leading 28 ladies out onto the course for 18 holes of golf, playing 6 holes greensome, 6 holes bloodsomes and 6 holes foursomes.

The ladies arrived back at the clubhouse many hours later, wet and cold.

After changing into dry clothes and with hot drinks and a meal waiting for them, the Brynhill ladies as always, enjoyed the day.

The vice captain Lisa Taylor had worked very hard formulating a testy but enjoyable quiz for the ladies.

Jo the ladies captain had organised some beautiful candle hamper prizes from Butterflies in High Street.

The winner of the quiz was Jan Robertson.

Nearest the line winner was Chris Hopkins.

The winners with most points on par 3s were Lynda Lloyd and Judy Davies and the best hat winner was Julie Harkin.

The main competition prizes were, in 3rd place Jan Robertson and Jen Pugh with 27 pts.... in 2nd place were Lynda Lloyd and Judy Davies with 29pts and in 1st place were Lisa Taylor and Glynis Gould with 33 pts.

All good scores considering the weather.

The ladies enjoyed a lovely carvery and Jo thanked the caterer Mark Dommett and his staff, the bar staff and the course staff.

Even though the weather was atrocious the course was in wonderful condition.

Jo thanked the ladies for all turning up on such an atrocious day.
