SUNDAY’S decent weather drew over 40 four man teams to the manicured fairways of this glorious Brynhill Course.
The prize on offer was the Rabbits n Tigers Texas Scramble and top team on the day was Julian Hopkins, John Barret, Ian Clemo and Pat Walsh. A blistering 57 was just enough to squeeze out the mixed ability fourball of Kevin Williams, Paddy Moore, Carl Williams and Mathew Thomas, by point eight of a point.
This coming Saturday sees a Captains Select v First and Second team, a shotgun start with the 18 matches teeing off from the 18 holes at the same time, great unless you’re drawn on 14 or 15, which means you complete your round nearer to the Hawking Centre than the Clubhouse.
Sunday and it’s back to everybody’s favourite medal format, two trophies are up for grabs in the shape of the Marcus Watt (net) and Ken Murphy (gross) cups. Lock n load, grip it and rip it but always remember at Brynhill Golf is the real winner.
