WALES and Lions legend Sam Warburton is guest speaker at a Cwmbran fundraiser in tribute to a popular Gwent rugby coach.

The former flanker will be at the Parkway Hotel on Friday, September 13, telling tales from his Test career and previewing the World Cup.

The dinner will has been organised by Chris Landry and will raise funds for St David’s Hospice, where his father Wynford died in February, 2018.

Over four decades he coached youngsters at Cross Keys, Croesyceiliog and Pontypool and an event with Shane Williams last year raised over £5,000 for the hospice.

Tickets for the Warburton dinner cost £400 for a table of ten, with individual tickets also available, and include a meal, entertainment from a male voice choir and a charity auction.
