Sully CC continued their recent good form winning both midweek and Saturday league games.

Away to the Vale in the midweek league the Spartans won the toss and elected to bat first on a used wicket of slow and low bounce.

Saeed Ali and David Morgan opened the batting for Sully and put on 30 before both were out to the purge of the low ball.

Inam Khan and Sudhi Nar came in with the intent of reaching 135 to 140 as a target which on this wicket it would be a defendable one.

Inam hit a steady and match winning innings of not out 61 ably supported by Sudhi not out 35 and the score at the end of the 20 overs was a good 138 for 2 with the Spartans bowlers itching to have a go on this strip.

And so it would be, the wicket with a used bowl got even slower and Man of the match Inam 3 for 20 Saeed 2 for 25, Sathish 1 for 19 and Sahrdul 1 for 29 bowled out the home side for 120 and the Spartans move forward to a top of the table clash at Pentyrch.

On Saturday the first team travelled the short distance to Llandaff fields to play Cardiff Gymkhana.

Again winning the toss skipper David Morgan had the daunting task as whether to bat first, normally a no brainer ,

But as with midweek the worn dusty pitch made it a difficult decision, but go with your instincts so bat first.

Amit Dour with a splendid 40 was top scorer shortly followed by Vishal Ghant 39 and a winning partnership of 50 between Tibin Joseph no 31 and Sathish Perla no 13, pushing the Spartans to an above average score on this strip of 203 for 8 after the allotted 45 overs and a very defendable total.

In response Gymkhana went for it from the start and to be fair if it had not been for a freak run out the opening partnership of 60 could well have gone on to make it a very close game.

That run out turned the game and wickets fell at regular intervals with Saeed Ali 4 for 32 Man of the Match Tibin Joseph 3 for 22 and Inam Khan 2 for 41 leaving the home side 156 all out and a win by 47 runs.
