AFTER great wins the week before by both Barry's 1st and 2nd XI v the Vale including a 100 from Lloyd Smith to put both back in the promotion race.

Last Saturday Barry 1st XI travelled to Ebbw Vale on a damp and miserable afternoon and didn't start until 2.30pm with the game 28 overs per side, won the toss and bowled.

Ebb Vale reaching 199 for 6 in their 28 overs with A.Morgan 57 not out, M.Anwar 3 for 28.

In reply Barry reached 183 for 7 falling 16 runs short with Lee Morgan yet again reaching another 50, ably supported by A.Baker 34 and G. Chaturvereli 27.

At the island Barry 2nd XI entertained Christchurch CC Wales who scored 136 for 6, with both S. Widanapathirena 2 for 16 and B.Usswald 2 for 16 being the main wicket takers.

In reply Barry reached 137 for 6 A.Gunesekera 71 and N.Jay 30.

on Sunday Barry Athletic U9s travelled to The Common at Dinas Powys for a festival and won all 3 games V Dinas Powys by 23 runs, Upper Rhondda by 9 runs and Pontypridd by 46 runs.

Barry Athletic U11s won The U11s B League West winning all their games.

The U11s softball team won 4 and lost one game all season.

The u13s have one game left and an outside chance of winning the league.

On Sunday 25th August Barry Athletic will be holding their 1st ever Women's Softball Cricket Festival with a 12pm start
