The Munro Cup Match Against Sully started well for Cadoxton, at home. After five ends three of the rinks held the lead. Derek Jeffries skipped the other one, and trailed 6-0 after three ends, but had levelled the score four ends later. However, this recovery was short lived as the visitors took command with seven wins out of the following eight ends. The final three ends brought success for the home side, but to late to make an impression. Jim Davies’s rink started off with an 8-5 lead after 6 ends, but with just two further singles during the game the visitors took full control, and, included a maximum ‘8’ during the instability.

The other two rinks faired, better. Howard Craven skipped his rink to a 5-2 advantage, nevertheless three ends later they trailed 5-7. Once again, they opened a gap in their favour reaching an 18-11 advantage before losing three singles to finish. Ian Heppenstall’s rink raced to an 8-0 advantage after 5 ends. During the next 5 ends two counts of ‘3’ were, conceded, but they still held the supremacy with further success on the next 4 ends giving them a 17-7 advantage. The visitors finally came good to succeed in winning the final four ends, but too late to affect the result.
