CONGRATULATIONS must go to Alan Thomas, Dave Curtis and Brain Griffiths who, on Sunday, won the County Senior Triples title. Well done men.

On Wednesday, in the Munroe cup, the villagers travelled to Cadoxton for the last time before the club unites with central to form a new club.

It is always sad to see a club go but the green itself will not be missed. On the night, special mention goes to Eddie Pryer who helped his rink take an eight and win 32-10, with some really good bowling, on a very heavy surface.

K Mahoney,E Pryer,D Hotchkiss, D Edwardes 32-10, R Fitzjohn,R Nethercote,P Neale, A Thomas,17-10H Thomas,B Dascombe A Rees, C Williams13-17, A Kelly, H Levick Jones,J Best T Murphy 14-18,giving a ten point to four 76-55 win.

Saturday saw the visit of Millwood with many ex Sully bowlers in the side,so a tough game was expected in a strong wind.

After seven ends, Sully were in control with all rinks up and 16 shots to the good.

At fourteen ends still all up,with the T Murphy rink under pressure it was 23 shots the difference.Having made some positional changes the selectors would have been over joyed to see the rinks perform so well. The Dennis Edwards rink with B Curtis, J Hubbard, and C Williams goes from strength to strength with a 24-12 win.

The Brian Griffiths rink was tweaked to A Smith M Hardy, D Hotchkiss and their best win ensued 27-16. A Rees, R Fitzjohn, A Thomas,D Curtis held on for a 20-14 win besides the skip trying the wrong bias approach, drinks all round.

Although never behind from the second end, it was all square playing the last but the home side of D Lougher, D Curtin, J Best, T Murphy took a four to win 21-17,so 14 points and a 92-59 win was a very good outcome.

This week the villagers are home on Wednesday and Thursday with Saturday taking us to Llantwit Major.
