ON Saturday Barry Athletic 1st XI travelled the short distance to Sully for a local derby and what a nail bitter it was.

The hosts won the toss and batted first.

Lloyd Smith bowling up the hill with speed and Rhett Jones managing to stay in Sully soon to charge and were on there way to a big total, but the did not imaging that Chris Land would come to the Party taking 4 for 37 abaly supported by Nuwan Jay 2 for 28 and despite a late onslaught from Jake Griffett Sully were bowled out for 232, Griffett 55 and Jones 50.

In reply Barry were soon in trouble as they lost Smith, Morgan, N.Baker and Jay for 51 and were really up against it but this only brought Shae Ellis and Sam Hopkins together and they set about repairing the damage and both played with maturity and added 123 runs in 21 overs to put Barry back in with a chance.

But there was another twist as more wickets fell, but Hopkins stayed firm and as it came to the last 2 overs 17 were needed to win, with 5 coming off the first 3 balls 12 to win of 9 balls.

Lane then hit 2 fours, 4 to win off 7 balls Lane was bowled, the game still in the balance 4 to win for Barry, 2 wickets to win for Sully as the last over started Hopkins nudged to mid wicket 2 runs taken 2 to win off 5 balls the Hopkins hitting a 6 to win the game and finish on 90 not out and a 2 wicket win for Barry.
