THERE were mixed fortunes over the last two weeks for Barry Athletic.
On Saturday 1st June Barry's 1st XI entertained Hopkinstown won the toss and batted 1st and scored 315 for 6 Lloyd Smith 52 Mike Haswell 49 Nathan Baker 28.
Hopkinstown I reply reached 172 for 8 G.Hughes 56 John Gee 2 for 32 Nuwan Jay 2 for 22.
On the same day Barry's 2nd XI travelled to Cefn Forest who batted first scored 171 for 6, Sagara 3 for 26 in reply Barry reached 164 all out Dad 67 and Kapil 32.
Last Saturday Barry Athletic 1st XI travelled to Monkswood lost the toss and batted 1st in a reduced game reached 173 for 7 in 40 overs, Lee Morgan top scoring with 51.
In reply Monkswood got the total in 19.5 overs finishing 184 for 0 with Mike Jones 107 not out and Matt Malson 59 not out.
Last Sunday Barry Athletic held their first under 9s Festival at the island losing their 1st game to the vale by 21 runs, then beating Cardiff Reds by 26 runs and Upper Rhondda by 41 runs.
This week's under 9s festival is at Pontypridd.
