Cadoxton travelled across town to meet Romilly in a Munro Cup Match. and found the conditions even worse than their own green. The pride in looking after the council bowling greens has disappeared during the last few years. The home team were more used to it, and the result showed with a crushing defeat for the visitors on all rinks.

Cadoxton played their first league fixture, against Penyrheol, at home, after a messy beginning to the season with numerous fixtures being cancelled for various reasons. The wait seemed to do them good as they completed a prodigious success.

Howard Craven’s rink, as usual, continued with another win which was only blotted with a ‘5’ against amongst just five losing ends. Whilst amassing 34 shots, which included two ‘5’s and a ‘4’., for a 23 shot win.

Don Kuhnell also skipped his rink to another 23 shot victory, losing just 6 singles throughout the game.

Kelvin Chedgzoy started with a 6-1 advantage after 4 ends, on his rink, but lost the lead for the only time on the 11th end with a 12-13 score. However, the supremacy was regained on the next end and they never looked back with just three further losing ends.

Mike Hurley skipped a tight game throughout with the winning ends almost level, but a ‘7’ against on the 14th end ensured a win for the visitors.
