BARRY Romilly Bowling Club welcomed the Scotland (high performance) team and the South African national team for a practice match on Tuesday 7th May 2019.
This was prior to their 14 day tournament in the Atlantic Championships, Cymru Wales 2019, which is played at various clubs in the area.
The South African team had only arrived in the country the previous day.
Spokespersons for both teams thanked the club for affording them the courtesy of a practice match and complimented the club on the excellent condition of the green, considering it was very early in the bowling season and the adverse weather conditions we had endured during the winter season.
Both teams thanked the members of Barry Romilly Bowling Club for the warm welcome they had received.
Any seasoned bowlers or any new comers interested in taking up bowls, are invited to visit the club and contact Paul James, the club secretary.
