Vale of Glamorgan Football League round-up

The ASRS Cup Final at Jenner Park saw AFC Rhoose win the leagues oldest competition with a 2-0 victory over Island Marine.

An own goal and then Ben Murphy with the decisive goal to ensure the trophy.

In the SWFA Intermediate Cup, Holton Road and Tynewydd made it an all Barry final. Holton Road, came back from 2 goals down to defeat Royal Oak FC from the Aberdare league 3-2 while Tynny saw off New Inn FC from the Rhondda 3-1.

In league action in Division Two, Leaders AFC Rhoose B squeezed past Island Marine B 2-1, while St Athan B edged to a 3-2 win over Penarth Town B, and Barry Vikings suffered a shock loss to Vale Madrid, a result that lifts the latter off the foot of the table. The results see Rhoose B on the precipice of clinching the title. A victory or draw next week would seal the championship.

In Division One, Cadoxton Imps will have a wait for official confirmation after slipping to their first league defeat in seven games 3-2 against Cogan Coronation.

Imps will have to wait two weeks until Tynewydd play their final game although it would require a 12 goal swing for Tynny to unseat Imps in second.

Cogan themselves can still finish third if they win their final game and Tynny slip up. Elsewhere, Cadoxton Barry got back to winning ways in style with a 6-2 win over bottom side SP Billy.
