Vale of Glamorgan Football League round-up

HOLTON Road lifted the Supporters' Cup to complete the Division One League and Cup double, they now look ahead to the SWFA Intermediate Cup semi final as they chase a treble.

Holton Road saw off Cadoxton Barry 3-2 on a glorious day at Jenner Park, Cadoxton Barry made Holton Road work for it with a great effort but the champions' class came through.

In the Premier Division, AFC Rhoose look odds on to get the second place spot, they saw off Sully Sports 5-2 to go one point ahead of Cowbridge Town in third but with two games in hand.

Cowbridge moved third with an impressive 2-0 win away over Island Marine while Penarth Town remain fifth, but warmed up for the Barry Cup final in a few weeks, with a 7-2 thumping of bottom side St Athan.

In Division One, Cadoxton Imps all but secured promotion with an impressive 3-0 victory over Cardiff Airport.

The result sees Imps three points ahead of Tynewydd with both sides having one game remaining, however Imps have much superior goal difference.

Tynny would have to hope Imps lose heavily in their final game and they win in double figures for any chance.

In Division Two, the title race is blown wide open. It’s a three way race as St Athan B ended Barry Vikings seven game unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory. Leaders AFC Rhoose B were held 2-2 by Barry Athletic B, so now Rhoose sit three points ahead of both Vikings and St Athan but Vikings do have a game in hand.

Penarth Town B gained pay back for a midweek defeat to Cadoxton Athletic in some style, as they thrashed them 8-1. Finally, Vale Madrid saw off Island Marine B 2-0 to bounce back from cup final disappointment and closed the gap at the bottom on Marine B to two points.
