Cadoxton Barry 4 - 0 Cwm Talwg

A STORMING start saw Cadoxton Barry F.C. take this Supporters Cup semi-final by the scruff of the neck, Jenkinson opening the scoring with a stunning free kick in the 10th minute.

CB continued to take advantage of the slope and the breeze as a further five minutes passed before Cwm launched their first serious attack, Kinch getting well behind a fierce drive.

For the next twenty or so minutes play was much more even. However, a battling Hartrey helped dum down the Cwm resurgence when he won the ball out of a scramble near the right side of the half way line before pumping forward to find Ingham who fired home from two yards inside the centre of the box after thirty-five minutes.

Cwm went forward from the re-start to engineer a quality drive from mid-distance, but the reliable Kinch was well behind the shot.

And the Cwm keeper more than matched Kinch when he confidently tipped a Foster free kick over the bar. As half time approached Matthews initiated a quality passing move by sending a long pass down the left to find Jenkinson who, in turn, crossed only for Hartrey to fail by a whisker to get his head on it at the far post.

Cwm took advantage of the breeze and the slope to press strongly during the early stages of the second half, Ackerman doing well to head a quality cross clear.

And the intermittent pressure continued through to the sixty-fifth minute when a Jenkinson injury forced him to make way for Sansome.

But CB needn't have feared the loss of one of its main strikers as Ingham and Yeoman began to see more of the ball up front. But a twenty-five yard Cwm free kick only needed the touch that didn't come to have reduced the deficit.

And they paid for that as Kinman found Sansome whose shot was only parried by the 'keeper over to the left by line where lurked Ingham who cleverly found the net from the narrowest of angles.

And this spurred CB into re-taking charge of matters for the final fifteen minutes.

But CB weren't totally home and dry as a quality Cwm drive from the left brought a tremendous save form Kinch.

But it was all over in the eighty-fifth minute when a ball over the top saw Ingham scramble home to complete a fine hattrick as the ball emerged from a goal mouth melee.

In the Jenner Park final CB will meet Holton Road who beat Cadoxton Imps in the other semi-final.

Having built their side by raiding other teams of their best players, including Cadoxton Barry, Holton are nonetheless one of the best sides in the Vale of Glamorgan League.

It will be a tough ask for CB who will certainly be the underdogs. But shocks do sometimes happen.

However, before that CB have league games to play as well as another cup semi-final in the more prestigious Barry Cup.
