YSGOL Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg’s Floor and Vault mixed team came 1st in the Welsh Schools Gymnastic Competition on Friday, 25th of January.

They will now represent Wales at the British Final in Stoke.

During the competition held in Cardiff, the under 14 year-old mixed team completed numerous routines and challenges.

The four pupils in the team were Brothers, Emrys and Morus Bowen, Erin Healey and Parys Lawrence.

They all completed an individual floor routine, as well as two vault jumps.

Their coach, James Evans, said: ‘I’m very proud of these pupils. The standard this year was exceptional. The team worked together and supported each other, just as they do in school. It will be an honour for Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg to represent Wales in the British final!’

This follows from the whole-school success in November when teams from the primary and secondary school won gymnastic competitions.

As well as preparing for the final in a few weeks, the school experienced more success in the Cardiff and Vale Gymnastic Competition on Friday, 8th of February when both ‘Year 7-9’ and ‘Year 10-13’ boys teams won their competitions. Llongyfarchiadau a phob lwc!
