Despite the recent torrential rain at Brynhill, the Barry course is standing up very well, with both greens and fairways still remarkably dry for this late in the year.
In the winter months we shorten the course and allow teeing up at Brynhill but even this does not explain the obscene 50 points recorded by Sundays winners Cureton and Lloyd, or the 48s posted by second placed Nelson and Gould pairing or indeed the third placed Nicoloaou Connel duo.
Handicap reductions are normally temporary over the winter, with players reverting to their “proper” handicap when the club comps resume, in the spring.
However these numbers suggest 'Slasher' Giles should be awoken from hibernation and permanent revisions imposed. 50 points.....common!
