Cadoxton Athletic 2-4 Cadoxton Barry

Jenkinson helped Cadoxton Barry take a 14th minute lead in their Barry Cup quarter final with local rivals Cadoxton Athletic while the next 30 minutes of the half was shared in terms of momentum.

However, virtually on the stroke of half time, Cadoxton Athletic came up with an equalizer.

The second half saw Cadoxton Barry pulling away with a Yeoman strike and a fine Jenkinson goal from a very well executed free kick.

And it was from another Jenkinson free kick that Dawson scored with a fine header.

Though the tie was now out of sight as far as the Athletic were concerned they battled away to earn a merited second consolation goal just before the final whistle.

Special mention must go Cadoxton Barry veteran, Chris Barnet, a man who has been player, administrator and assistant manager over the years.

He put in a sterling performance at the back for the full 90 minutes.

The victory means that Cadoxton Barry are now just one win away from the Jenner Park final of the Vale of Glamorgan League's most senior cup competition.

Next Saturday Cadoxton Barry play their last match of the league season as it stands when they visit Cardiff Airport at Ceri Road, Rhoose for a 2pm start.
