Vale of Glamorgan Senior Football League round up

JUST the eight games played in the Vale league this past weekend but goals aplenty.

We start at the match of the day where 2nd met 3rd in the Premier Division as Rhoose hosted Island Marine. Rhoose came out victorious 4-2 to close the gap on leaders Barry Athletic to five points with a game in hand. Penarth Town made it two wins on the bounce as they continue to look impressive as they mauled St Athan 5-1. Cowbridge Town bounced back from two consecutive heavy defeats to pick up their first win since the opening day with an impressive 3-1 win over Barry Saints.

In Division One, it was seven heaven for leaders Holton Road as they continue to take Division One by storm with a 7-2 hammering of SP Billy and make it seven wins for seven, promotion looking odds on for Holton Road even at this early stage.

Cogan Coronation go second after they edged bottom of the table Cwm Talwg 1-0. Cadoxton Imps took the Cadoxton derby bragging rights with a narrow 3-2 triumph over Cadoxton Barry.

In Division 2, the record for writing Cadoxton in one report continued as Cadoxton Athletic climbed to second spot with a 3-1 victory over Barry Vikings, while Penarth Town B made it two wins in a row but what a win as they heavily thrashed Barry Albion.

This weekend in the Vale league, it's super Saturday. It's top vs second in the Premier Division as Barry Athletic host Rhoose, top vs second in the First Division as Holton Road face Cogan and first vs third in the Second Division with Rhoose B taking on St Athan B.
