Brynhill Golf Club round up

BRYNHILL Golf Club held the Kenyon Cup this Sunday, a foursome competition where both players tee off and the best drive is selected, then alternate shots are played to score on each hole.

The sweet swinging Sweeny and Coles duo absolutely romped it with a blinding 63, four better than veteran choppers Bounds and Rees.

This weekend the Holme Towers Cup is the Prize up for grabs, it’s an 18-hole medal singles competition, so blast one out of bounds on the 4th or 5th and you may as well down tools and retire to the bar.

With the course still in fine nick, good weather forecast and the greens more receptive than earlier in the season, good scores will be required to be in the mix.

Go on, tee it high on the 5th, forget the elevated tee, ignore the prevailing left to right wind and just grip it and rip it, I dare you.

Halleteers wanted. Brynhill intends fielding a Hallet Side next year so any members of 18 handicap and up should contact Billy Gratton.

It’s a chance to represent the club and play competitive team golf against other local clubs, testing yourselves on Brynhill and other local courses.
