ABSENCES caused by the attraction of the disastrous Cardiff/Man City match – which also saw many regular supporters miss out on one of Barry Town's best performances since their return to the Welsh Premier – coupled with a missing goalie requiring a quality outfielder having to stand between the sticks saw Cadoxton Barry trying gallantly, but failing to paper over the cracks.

Things were fairly even during the early minutes, but from the moment that a long range Tynny effort struck the CB right hand upright the visitors began to take control.

CB did have a break down the left but the alert 'keeper spotted the danger and was quick to gather.

However, Tynny opened their account when they earned a free kick a couple of yards outside the CB penalty area.

The well struck shot smote the cross bar before coming back into play where CB defenders were slow to react, allowing the alert forward plenty of time to head home in the 22nd minute.

Then, just five minutes later, a hopeful shot seemed to be well covered by acting 'keeper and last week's goal hero, Ackerman, but a wicked bounce as the ball pitched at his feet meant that he was only able to parry it as it deviated to the left with a forward bearing down.

It struck the aforementioned to rebound into the net without the scorer knowing much about it.

Having said that, Tynny were well worth the two goal advantage at this stage – Rattenbury being the pick of their line-up.

The early stages of the second half saw a visiting player retaliate with an attempted head but following a foul, to leave his side play out a large part of the half with only ten men.

But Cadoxton Barry failed to take advantage as a fairly mundane 35 minutes came and went with the threat of further goals from either side almost non-existent.

Next week sees the battle of the Cadoxtons as Cadoxton Imps host Cadoxton Barry in a 2pm kick-off at the Buttrils Fields.
